PROJECT “VALORISATION OF TOURISM POTENTIALS OF PROŠĆENJE MOUNTAINS”

As the result from the meetings with the representatives from the company “Tara Turist” from Mojkovac, the Association for Development of Rural Areas and Forestry (UROS) prepared with “Tara Turist” proposal for the project “Valorisation of Tourism Potentials of Prošćenje Mountains”. On March 2014, the project concept was presented on the meeting jointly organized in Podgorica by NGO “UROS” and “Tara Turist”.As the result from the meetings with the representatives from the company “Tara Turist” from Mojkovac, the Association for Development of Rural Areas and Forestry (UROS) prepared with “Tara Turist” proposal for the project “Valorisation of Tourism Potentials of Prošćenje Mountains”.

THE CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY OF THE ASSOCIATION FOR DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL AREAS AND FORESTRY (UROS) WAS HELD

The Constituent Assembly of the Association for Development of Rural Areas and Forestry (UROS) was held on January 9, 2014 in Podgorica. At the beginning, the Decision on Establishment of the Association for Development of Rural Areas and Forestry (UROS) was adopted. It is mentioned that the establishment of NGO UROS is very important for further promotion of sustainable development of rural areas in Montenegro, as well as for the ongoing demanding forestry sector reform.The Constituent Assembly of the Association for Development of Rural Areas and Forestry (UROS) was held on January 9, 2014 in Podgorica.

NGO UROS OFFICIALLY REGISTERED

"The Association for Development of Rural Areas and Forestry", abbreviated as "UROS" was officially registered under the number 6937 on January 15, 2014 in the Register of non-governmental organizations at the Ministry of Interior of Montenegro. "The Association for Development of Rural Areas and Forestry", abbreviated as "UROS" was officially registered under the number 6937 on January 15, 2014 in the Register of non-governmental organizations at the Ministry of Interior of Montenegro. The main objective of the NGO “UROS” is to encourage sustainable development of rural areas through valuation of natural resources.

In addition, work of the Association will be focused to support forestry sector by strengthening capacities at national and local level in line with the best global practices and initiatives. Furthermore, the assistance to agriculture and rural tourism is envisaged.


Special attention will be paid to support rural economy through education, promotion, organization and association of farmers. Moreover, the future activities of the NGO UROS will be targeted on raising awareness of the necessity of integrating the concept of sustainable development in Montenegro in compliance with environmental, economic and social aspects.
